Supertypes & Subtypes

The subtype/supertype structure is the mechanism for specifying classification (or categorization) of object types

ENTITY assembly ABSTRACT SUPERTYPE OF

(ONEOF (assembly_design, assembly_manufacturing)
ANDOR assembly_with_shape) SUBTYPE OF (structural_frame_product); assembly_sequence_number : OPTIONAL INTEGER; complexity : OPTIONAL complexity_level; END_ENTITY;

A subtype inherits all the attributes of its supertype(s)

… and the attributes of the supertypes’ supertypes, etc...
